What happens?
- You completely fill the SD card by doing a long recording
- The device enters “error” mode (fast blinking light) which indicates that the SD card is full
- You remove the SD card, remove the files (move to bin, on MacOS)
- You re-insert the SD card, but the device goes straight into “error” mode again!
Why?
- On MacOS, “Move to bin” does not actually remove the files from a drive. The space is still reserved.
- When the SD card is re-inserted, the device sees the drive as full, and cannot add more files.
How to prevent/ fix the error:
It is important to completely remove files from drives by doing one of the following:
- Move the files to bin, then empty the trash or
- Use the disk utility tool to reformat the drive (use exFAT format) to completely erase the files
